Welcome to the Seafood Fish Bar, a beloved gem nestled at 200 Newark Ave, Peterborough. This charming fish and chips restaurant has been a staple in the community for years, and it’s no surprise why. Specializing in traditional British cuisine, the Seafood Fish Bar serves up a menu that captivates the senses and brings the essence of coastal cuisine right to your plate.

The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, where the friendly owners create not just delectable dishes but also a sense of belonging. It’s a place where regulars feel at home and newcomers quickly become loyal patrons. The clean and well-kept environment sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.

Now, let’s talk about the pièce de résistance: the fish and chips. Customers rave about the perfectly crispy, golden batter that envelops the tender fish, making each bite a revelation. David Thornton highlights the unbeatable value, noting that he switched from a pricier competitor to the Seafood Fish Bar for their excellent quality at just £13 for two portions. The fish is renowned for its freshness, and you can taste the pride that goes into every serving.

But it doesn't stop there. Alongside the star attraction, the chips are a crunchy, fluffy delight with none of the greasy aftertaste often found in lesser establishments. As Paul Hutchinson points out, the attention to detail is evident in their use of butter on their bread rolls, elevating the whole meal experience. Add a side of mushy peas that transport you back to the classic British style of the 1970s, and you have a dish that encapsulates nostalgia and flavor in every bite.

For those looking for variety, the menu also features succulent jumbo sausages that are cooked to order, offering something tasty for everyone. Tone Swallow's experience exemplifies this as he enjoyed some perfectly cooked chips and a satisfying sausage during a lunchtime visit.

One of the standout aspects of Seafood Fish Bar is its commitment to service. Regulars like Steve Hambleton appreciate the friendly demeanor of the proprietors, making you feel like part of the family each time you visit. James Frost echoes this sentiment, attesting to the consistency and reliability of both the food and service over the years.

In a world where dining options are endless, the Seafood Fish Bar stands out not just for its delicious offerings, but for its heart. As you savor the fruits of their labor with each bite, you’re reminded of the rich traditions of British fish and chips, crafted with care and excellence. Whether you’re a local or exploring Peterborough, make sure to stop by and indulge in this culinary treasure that promises to keep you coming back for more.

Used to use another chippy locally but fish and chips X two went up to £17.5. Now use these folks fish and chips X 2 = £13.00. Excellent fish and chips - keep it going. The proprietors have been running this place for years - keep it going.

Haven’t been here for over a year, I’ve kind of known the owners for 24 years, had to jog her memory, lol,(used to deliver their stock from where I’m employed) went in today at lunchtime, they had just opened, I ordered chips, which were very nice, perfectly cooked and no greasy aftertaste, jumbo sausage without batter, which was cooked to order, and was ok as far as chippy sausages go, a portion of Doner meat, which wasn’t really to my taste, as I’m a kebab fan, quite greasy and very salty, but a very generous helping, and a small portion of curry sauce, which was tasty, but a little watery, and not very hot, but overall, not a bad meal for £9.10, can of pop included (£1). Quick efficient service, and good conversation with the Lady whilst waiting, which was only around 6 minutes. 8/10, definitely would use again, and great value pricing.

Always very nice people here. Véry friendly and kind. Good sized portions . Fish is good with crispy golden batter. Mushy peas taste like old English style from 1970s. Good chips without the small scrappy ends. Even bread roll has butter taste instead of cheap margarine They have pride in their food. Always go there when I need fish chips. Highly recommend. Food very consistent and reliable. 10 out of ten for me.

Been using this chippy for years. Everytime when I have been the man and woman always friendly and the place is always clean. I find they are the best, cheapest and big portions unlike most chippy in pboro. Won't use anyone else 5*

I have a used this fish and chips for many years and I live in this area and have tried other fish and chips in other local areas and would 100 per cent recommend for service and the best cod I have tried, and that includes the uk. It is the only place for me and my wife to eat cod and chips. Always 5 stars from me and my wife.
